Substitute Teacher Workshop

Designed to prepare those interested in serving as a substitute teacher or ed tech. There will be plenty of “hands on learning” and important classroom management techniques and teaching strategies. We’ll also cover some legal aspects and help you develop your own “sub pack” or resources and an action plan that will get you started on the right foot! If you have been subbing, this is a great opportunity for a refresher and some new ideas. Attendees will earn a certificate recognized by many local districts.

With the cost of cards going up and never being able to find the right card for the occasion learning to make your own would be a great thing to know. Tara from Scrapping with Tara will guide you through everything you will need to know to create cards that people will treasure. A small material fee of $5-10 paid to the instructor may be required, depending on the project of the week.
Yoga for Everybody

If you have never tried yoga or are a seasoned practitioner of the art you will all feel welcome in this class. Our instructor included warm up, poses to build strength, balancing poses, deep stretches and a period of relaxation. Modifications are available as it is suited for beginners to advanced. Bring a water bottle and yoga mat and dress comfortably to allow for ease of movement.
Butterfly on a Sunflower

This painting gives us the promise of spring. A lovely sunflower with a butterfly resting on it. You can adjust your design and colors as desired to fit your home or perhaps someone else’s. All painting materials are provided for a $10 fee. Bring a snack and a beverage and have a fun evening.
Cooking For Crowds Food Safety

This workshop offers up to date information on how to handle, transport, store and prepare foods safely for large group functions, including at soup kitchens, church suppers and food pantries. Participants will receive “Cooking for Crowds,” a manual specifically designed for volunteer cooks, as well as a certificate of attendance, food safety posters, refrigerator and meat thermometers
