Spring Into College Savings: The Alfond Grant and Maine's College Savings Program

Maine families have access to two valuable programs to assist with saving and paying for education after high school: the $500 Alfond Grant and Maine’s College Savings program. While these initiatives offer great benefits, understanding each of their features can sometimes be challenging. Whether you’re a parent, guardian, or student, this session will provide you with information to make the most of these valuable resources. Join us to improve your understanding and take steps towards a successful educational future!

Microsoft Excel Advanced Session 2

During this session, you will learn how to hide data, split and freeze a window, create ranges, understand the name manager, learn additional functions, copy and paste special, sort data, and learn the power of filters. Some examples of using Microsoft Excel as practical tools include the amortization table, 20 top functions companies want their employees to know, and pivot tables. The design of this course includes 2-3 hours of work with the software between sessions to gain maximum benefit from the sessions. This is a live online class using ZOOM.

Food Preservation Workshop

Ever wonder how to preserve and use all of that great locally-grown produce? University of Maine Cooperative Extension food preservation workshops will teach you the basics of canning and freezing, including how to use pressure canners and water bath canners to preserve pickles, jam, and vegetables. Workshops are taught by UMaine Extension staff and Master Food Preserver Volunteers. All participants will receive a packet of information and a jar of what we make.  

Financial assistance is available; please email the UMaine Extension staff at extension.foodnutritioncumberland@maine.edu for more information.

You must register at least one week prior to the class to ensure that enough materials are ordered – no exceptions.

Strength and Balance for Senior Fitness

Prepare to be getting on and off the floor during the mat portion .  If you have been working on your fitness and want to challenge yourself, "Senior Fitness" will guide you  safely and effectively. This class is progressive and increases your overall well-being throughout the 6 week session.

Gentle Fitness for Health
